Benefits of Community Membership
Benefits of Becoming a VANHA Community Member Education Programs: VANHA provides numerous educational seminars and conferences throughout the year allowing participants an opportunity to earn Continuing Education Units. Members attend at special member rates. Group Purchasing Program: Opportunities exist for members to substantially save money through a group purchasing program that allows communities to purchase and save on numerous products and services ranging from paper products to cleaning and sanitizing products to kitchen supplies to pharmaceutical or food services. Conferences: VANHA offers a variety of conferences and seminars every year, which may include, but are not limited to: an Annual Spring Conference & Trade Show, Fall Conference, Winter Conference, Nurse Conference and various other ad hoc educational opportunties. Each conference offers an opportunity for CEUs. In an increasingly competitive and rapidly chainging field, VANHA strives to help members keep pace with research, trends, compliance and regulatory issues, technology and quality initiatives in a place seniors can call home. VANHA is committed to providing the best and most forward-looking educational offerings in a time of constant changes. Publications: Members stay informed about industry news, state and national news, legislative issues, etc. through numerous publications communicated during the year which include: a weekly electronic newsletter, the Monday Mailing; a membership directory; and a weekly electronic legislative newsletter, the Legislative E-Station. Networking Opportunities: Opportunities exist for members to network and share information with their colleagues at conferences, educational programs, network meetings, regional meetings, and other VANHA special events. Networks: Networks have been established to enable members to network with their peers and participate in programs specifically designed to provide additional education on issues relevant to their job function and workplace. Councils: Councils have been formed to serve each type of facility member: Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) Council, Assisted Living Council, and Nursing Facility Council. Leadership Opportunities: Members have the ability to step forward and serve VANHA in various volunteer capacities. This is a wonderful opportunity for members to let their leadership skills shine outside of their day-to-day work environment. Our website offers an effective and paperless way of fast communication with other members and VANHA staff through broadcast email and an online directory. Other features include online publications of weekly bulletins, up to date conference information, on-line registration and more....
